Who Are ChatGPT’s Top 10 Green Bay Packers of All-Time?
Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

Few NFL franchises have had the generational pull of a team in the league’s smallest city over the past century.

The Green Bay Packers, with 11 NFL Championships and four Super Bowls, has been a stalwart success story in a league full of parity — thanks to cornerstone figures like Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and Reggie White.

With the NFL dead period in full swing, BetWisconsin.com took a break from Wisconsin sports betting updates and utilized ChatGPT to learn who the top 10 Green Bay Packers players of all-time were.

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot device created by OpenAI in November 2022. The device has taken the United States by storm as companies and everyday people use it in their daily lives. The program is trained to follow instructions in a prompt and provide a detailed response.

ChatGPT’s Top 10 Packers of All-Time

For this study, we typed in “Who are the Top 10 Green Bay Packers of all-time?’ ChatGPT prefaced its answer by saying, “As an AI language model, I do not have personal preferences or the ability to form opinions. However, I can provide a list of the top 10 Green Bay Packers players based on statistical achievements, impact on the team, and overall legacy. They are in no particular order.”

Who Are The Greatest Packers Of All Time?

According to AI, the 1966 NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion out of Alabama is the greatest Packer of all time.

Starr, who was drafted in the 17th round (200th pick overall) in the 1956 NFL Draft out of Tuscaloosa, went on to throw for nearly 25,000 yards and 152 touchdowns in a run-heavy era of football.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977, putting a fitting final chapter on a career that saw Starr retire with the second-best passer rating (80.5), behind Otto Graham of the Browns.

Trailing Starr on the ChatGPT leaderboard are modern Packers quarterbacks, Favre and Aaron Rodgers, who led Green Bay to a pair of Super Bowls in 1996 and 2010, respectively.

Rounding out the top-five are White, who was a Hall of Fame defensive end with the franchise, and linebacker Ray Nitschke, who played for Green Bay between 1958 and 1972 under legendary head coach Vince Lombardi.

The rest of the top-10 includes old time stars, like wideout Don Hutson and running back Paul Hornung, as well as modern day players, like cornerback Charles Woodson.

It’s hard to argue that the Packers’ all-time list starts with the franchise’s trio of superstar quarterbacks, all of whom played a key role in the team’s four Super Bowl titles between 1966 and 2010.
