To better understand the Packers' chances, I used DraftKings Sportsbook to review the Packers' current odds to make the playoffs. From that you can use an odds converter to review how that equates to implied probability.
In addition to DraftKings, I'll also be keeping track of the New York Times Playoff Simulator and the ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) throughout the course of the season. These are great indicators of where the Packers stand as well.
The Packers Super Bowl odds put them at 16th among the remaining 20 NFL teams.

Packers Playoff Chances: Schedule & Betting Lines
Going into the 2023 season, it was tough to gauge the Packers playoff chances. For the first time in three decades, the Packers were embarking on a season without either Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre at the helm. To make things more complicated, the Packers were coming off their worst season in the Matt LaFleur era, missing the playoffs for the first time.

Key Contributors Towards Packers Playoff Chances
Jordan Love is looking more and more like the franchise quarterback in Green Bay. If the Packers have found their long-term QB in Love, that will be considered a win for this season despite anything else that happens the rest of the way.
His No. 1 target this season has been WR Romeo Doubs, who leads the team in touchdowns. He's also the only Packers pass-catcher who has played in all 16 games this season. Injuries hit the Packers hard this season, which didn't help their playoff chances.
RBs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon lead the team in rushing, but neither has been healthy for the full season. Love has picked up some of those rushing yards, and he accounts for just under 14% of team rushing hards this season.
Rashan Gary leads the team with 9 sacks this season. He figures to be an important piece of the Packers defense for years to come, signing a contract extension midseason.
Leading the charge for the Packers is head coach Matt LaFleur, who is 18-2 in December all time.
Where Can I Bet on the Packers to Make the Playoffs?
While sports betting isn't legal in Wisconsin yet, there are two in-state casinos that do have sports books: Oneida Casino in Green Bay and Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee.
If you are in a state where you are able to legally gamble, you can easily bet on Packers props at BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, or DraftKings Sportsbook.
Wisconsin sportsbook apps aren't super high on the Packers right now, so you can get great odds on many of your favorite Packers' prop bets.
Looking Ahead: Packers Playoff Picture
The Packers have the easiest path to the playoffs in the NFL: win and you're in. They are favored to beat the Bears in Week 18, which would grant them a wild-card seed in the playoffs. Depending on what happens around the rest of the league, they could get either the No. 6 or 7 seed in the NFC.
Are the Packers Out of the Playoff Picture?
No, the Packers are not out of the playoff picture. They currently have a 65.5% chance to make the playoffs.
Packers Playoff Picture vs. NFC North
The Packers overcame their biggest challenge to getting into the playoffs when they beat the Vikings in Week 17. Their matchup was essentially an elimination game, and the Packers won soundly. The Vikings playoff chances are now down to 4.3%.
Meanwhile, the Lions already clinched a playoff spot by virtue of the NFC North title. This is the first time the Lions have won their division since 1993.
The Bears were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17.
Packers Playoff Picture vs. NFC Standings
The Packers currently sit at 8-8 and hold the No. 7 spot in the NFC due to current playoff tiebreakers. The 49ers, Eagles, Lions, Cowboys and Rams have already clinched playoff spots, which leaves two remaining seeds.
The Packers have been steadily moving up the playoff picture rankings, going from No. 11 three weeks ago to No. 7.

Where Do the Packers Rank in the NFC Wild Card Playoff Picture?
The Packers are the top team to get a wild-card seed at this point. The only way the Packers can get into the playoffs now is as a wild-card team. They have a 50% chance to get the No. 6 seed and an 18% chance to get the No. 7 seed.
Can the Packers Get the No. 1 Seed in Playoff Picture?
No, the Packers cannot get the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture. The 49ers clinched the No. 1 seed already.

Packers Playoff Picture Outlook & Predictions
The Packers have been peaking at the perfect time to close out their season, winning five of their last seven games. Unless they have a total meltdown vs. the Bears (in which case, I'd argue they wouldn't survive long in the playoffs anyway), we'll see this team in the playoffs. I'm fascinated to see who they could match up against in the first round.
Who to Root for if You're a Packers Fan
If the Packers should lose, fans should root for the following outcomes in Week 18:
- Lions over Vikings
- 49ers over Rams
- Falcons over Saints
- Panthers over Bucs
- Cardinals over Seahawks
If the Packers and 49ers win, the Packers will get the No. 6 seed in the NFC and play the No. 3 seed, which should be a better matchup for the Packers.
