Siblings Day Celebration: The Most Iconic Sibling-Athletes in Sports
Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

Behind every great athlete is a parent or sibling that pushed them to new heights. That is especially true for a select cadre of professional athletes who happen to be brothers or sisters with another top-level performer.

In Wisconsin, weā€™ve seen that brotherly love on full display. Future Hall of Famer Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers Thanasis (who plays for the Bucks alongside Giannis), Kostas (who played for the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers from 2018 to 2021) and Alex (who plays professionally overseas).

Throw in current Bucks big man Brook Lopez and his brother, Robin, who rejoined Milwaukee this season for a spell for his second stint as a Bucks player, and you have a full picture of the brothers that have connections to the Badger State.

JJ, TJ and Derek Watt all played football for the Wisconsin Badgers before embarking on NFL careers.

National Siblings Day is April 10. To celebrate, BetWisconsin.com ā€“ where we cover ongoing efforts to make Wisconsin sportsbooks legal ā€“ looked into the most famous sibling-athletes in sports. Using Semrushā€™s total combined search volume between Feb. 28 and March 28, 2024, we found that the NFL brothers, Travis and Jason Kelce, are the most famous with a combined search volume of 4,400,000.

Which Athletic Siblings Are Most Searched?

Of the many pro athlete siblings, the most popular are not the Watt brothers (who didnā€™t make the top 10) but rather another NFL family. Football-turned-pop culture icons Travis and Jason Kelce had the highest search volume, at 4,400,000. Jason Kelce recently retired after a career with the Philadelphia Eagles, in which he was one of the best NFL centers around. Travis has won three Super Bowl rings with the Kansas City Chiefs and is one of the best tight ends ever ā€“ oh yeah, and heā€™s dating pop superstar Taylor Swift. That boosted his search volume, just a bit.

The four basketball-playing Antetokounmpo brothers are next with a combined 1,091,000 search volume. There is a fifth brother, Francis, who played pro soccer.

Football coaches Jim and John Harbaugh (combined 808,000 search volume) come next on the list, followed by basketballā€™s Steph and Seth Curry (690,000 search volume).

Joining those famous duos this year is Deion Sandersā€™ quartet of football sons: Shedeur, Shelomi, Deion Jr., and Shilo. They combined to generate 648,000 in search volume to take the No. 5 spot. Tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams (533,000) are the lone sisters on the list; Serena has retired while Venus is still playing on the WTA Tour at age 43.

Retired NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning (381,000) were next up. They now co-host a popular alternative version of the NFL Monday Night Football telecast.

Basketballā€™s Ball brothers (Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo), footballā€™s Gronkowski brothers (Rob, Chris, Gordie Jr., and Dan) and the aforementioned Lopez brothers round out the list.
